information to remember to add to your wedding stationery

Before Your Wedding

On your Engagement Party Invitations, you should include the date, time, location, and any required dress code. These invitations can be sent out two to three months in advance or six to eight weeks if the affair is more causal. For your Save the Date Cards, you should include the city and state of your wedding along with your wedding website and include that your formal invitation will be coming soon. Save the Dates should be sent six to eight months before you send out your wedding invitations. Your Bridal Shower Invitation should be sent out by your wedding party, seeing they are going to be the people throwing you this party. After your Bridal Shower, you should send out your Thank-You Cards out at least two weeks after the celebration. Like your Bridal Shower Invitations, your Rehearsal Dinner Invitations should be sent out by the family hosting the rehearsal dinner. If you are having a Welcome Dinner to start off your wedding weekend, send out a Welcome Dinner Invitation to all the guests you wish to be there.

Wedding Stationery

Your wedding stationery can be as basic or as elaborate as you wish it to be. For your actual wedding invitation, remember to include your name and your significant other’s name, the name of the hosts (typically the bride’s parents), your wedding date and time, as well as the venue(s). If you are having your reception at a different venue than the ceremony, you should include a reception card in your invitation suite. On the Reception Card, you should include the name of the venue as well as the address and the time of the reception. On the Accommodations Card, if you have one, list all the possible hotel options. If you get a room block include the price, dates, any booking codes you have, and the hotel website. Like with the Reception Card, if your ceremony and reception are in two different locations, include a Directions/Map Card. If you aren’t having two locations, then this isn’t necessary. Your Response Card will each include a self-addressed stamped envelope along with a card that includes the guests to choose if they are accepting and declining the invitation to your wedding. Other than your wedding invitation suite, somethings you are going to need to include are a Ceremony Program, Escort Cards, Place Cards, Menu Cards, and Favor Tags. A lot of these other pieces of stationery are all optional. It is totally up to you and your significant other if you want to include these pieces in your wedding and as part of your stationery.

After Your Wedding

After you get married, the one piece of stationery you are going to need is your Thank-You Cards. Generally, your Thank-You Cards should include the name of the person/people who gave you the gift, what they bought, and a note of appreciation for the gift that they bought you and your significant other. Typically, you should send your Thank-You Cards to your guests about three weeks after your wedding or after you get back from your honeymoon.
