Inn at Hastings Park Wedding - Anne & Jeff

Lexington, MA | December 2020

While this was not the celebration Anne and Jeff had originally planned, their Inn at Hastings Park wedding was absolutely perfect for them!

Anne and Jeff’s love story began as children growing up in the Boston suburb of Arlington, MA. While the two were friendly in high school, had a similar group of friends, attended the same parties at Boston College, it wasn’t until they randomly met up on the same Boston Harbor cruise that sparks flew.

After spending most of the evening talking, the two went dancing in the Seaport and it was after seeing Jeff dance, that Anne knew there was something special about him. Over the next couple years, the two spent time getting to know one another, finished their education and began their careers, she as a nurse aesthetician and he as a firefighter.

After sharing their relationship with friends and family, the couple quickly new that they wanted to spend forever together. An engagement followed and they started planning a New Years wedding celebration for 350 guests, then COVID-19 hit.

As first responders, their focus shifted to caring for others and wedding planning was put on hold. As weeks turned to months, their commitment to each other and their future grew, priorities changed, so we planned an intimate wedding for immediate family in two months’ time.

On December 12, 2020, Anne and Jeff celebrated their wedding with a full catholic mass at St. Raphael’s Church in Medford, MA, followed by a dinner celebration at the Inn at Hastings Park in historic Lexington, MA.

Drawing on inspiration from the magic and romance of the holiday season, Anne wanted a wedding style that was classic, traditional, romantic, and tastefully festive – no red and green! Working alongside Peak Event Services and Leslie Lee Floral design, we brought the couple’s dreams to life with the perfect balance of deep purple, gold, green and white tones with candles and fairly lights. Custom menus from Serif and Sans, hand painted wooden bells and a sprig of greens completed the festive look.

With award-winning Chef Trisha Kenneally in the kitchen, guests were treated to an incredible multi-course dinner, signature cocktails, a dessert sampler and a stunning wedding cake that was displayed on a golden sleigh.

The night was full of love (and tears), as the father of the bride, maid of honor and the best men all gave heartfelt toasts, and the best moment of the night was the couple’s first dance to “More of You” by Chris Stapleton.

Hiring Kelly to plan our wedding was the best choice we made. Jeff and I finally canceled our 300+ person wedding in NH in early fall and started from scratch planning a micro-wedding in MA with just our immediate family members (15 wedding guests). We interviewed 5-6 other wedding planners and easily chose Kelly because of her enthusiasm, attention to detail, and our instant connection.

Our new wedding was planned in about 5 weeks. Kelly had every detail mapped out and organized, and did an amazing job of interpreting our dream. Kelly has so many amazing assets that make her perfect for this role; she is creative, determined, attentive, passionate, thoughtful, friendly, and truly listened to our desires and concerns. She was incredibly easy to communicate with, and we appreciate her professionalism and the relationships she maintains with other vendors. Kelly went above and beyond on so many occasions and we feel so lucky to have found her!

Kelly was more than just our wedding planner, she was our advocate, support, and new friend. Cutting out all extended family and friends from our wedding day was very difficult for us, but we are so glad that Kelly was one of the few individuals in attendance. Our wedding was very different than what we had originally planned, however, it reflected the romantic, holiday fun that we always hoped for.

We spent the entire day smiling and enjoying ourselves, and truly could not have pulled it off without Kelly. We would hire her again without hesitation!
