Micro Weddings

With the continued impact of the Covid-19 pandemic many couples have had to get creative when planning their wedding. One pandemic friendly option is having a micro wedding.

What is a Micro Wedding?

A micro wedding is just like your traditional wedding but on a smaller, more intimate scale. Most micro weddings cap at about 50 guests, and often include immediate family and close friends only.

Who Should Have a Micro Wedding?

There are lots of different reasons to have a micro wedding outside of it being a pandemic friendly option. The micro wedding has been growing in popularity even before the start of Covid-19, but why? Couples have been attracted to the micro wedding for many different reasons.

Couples Looking for More financial Freedom

While significantly cutting your guest will count will certainly save you money, a micro wedding also allows for you to use your budget very differently than you may have originally planned. With a more intimate gathering you can treat your guests, or splurge on something you wouldn’t normally be able to afford. With a micro wedding there is much more financial freedom to create a once and a lifetime experience for you and your guests!

Couples Who Want to Ditch The Big Day Nerves

Every couple is different, and different things work for different personalities. If you’re a couple who is naturally more introverted and the thought of hundreds of eyes on you sounds like the exact opposite of how you want to feel on your special day; then celebrating with just a handful of your loved ones might be perfect way to go!

Couples Looking to Reduce Planning Stress and Time

Only having 20 guests to think about opposed to 100 can reduce your stress and planning time. Less invites to send out, less response and questions to deal with, less menus choices to sort, and less table favors and name tags to organize. Whole portions of your to do list can be reduced or even eliminated by reducing your numbers.

Couples Who Want Quality Time With Their Guest

With a smaller gathering you have more time to really interact with your guests. Instead of your day being filled with quick hellos and goodbyes, and the guilt that you didn’t get to spend time with each guest individually a micro wedding can allow for a more relaxed vibe. Fewer guests allows for more quality time with each of them getting to soak in the excitement of your magical day!

Small Doesn’t Mean Boring

 Venue

Having a smaller sized wedding allows from some creative freedom that a traditional sized wedding wouldn’t allow for. This includes but is not limited to the venue. Maybe that is a destination wedding, renting out your favorite café or bar, a small garden venue, or perhaps the living room of a cherished family home.

 Meaningful Touches

Since there are less guests, this allows for more time to focus on each your guests. Thinking about what treats you could offer them. You might consider a handwritten note for every guest, your table favors could be personalized for each guest, or have their favorite drink waiting for them when you sit down for dinner.

Alternative forms of entertainment

The financial freedom that comes with throwing a micro wedding could allow for some alternative forms of entertainment. There is nothing wrong with hiring a DJ but with more flexibility in the budget you could hire a live band or perhaps some strings to play as you walk down the aisle. Some other alternative entertainment you might consider, fireworks, cigar bar, photo booth, wedding bounce house, a live painter, or DIY cocktails.

Turn to The Pros

It takes a village. Even with a smaller guest count planning a wedding is still a big undertaking, and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help! There are still vendors to be sourced, details to be planned, and visions to come to life! Look for those who can create what you love, understand your visions and dreams, and be the helping hand that you need to make your big day come to life!
