Who doesn’t love dessert!

tasting and consultation

When you do start looking into bakeries, there are a lot of things that you are going to need to think about. Once you and your significant other have found the bakery that you love and want to have them bake your desserts, think about when you are going to need to place your order. It’s recommended that you order any desserts you may want at your wedding reception, you are going to need to order 6 months before your big day. You are also going to need to keep in mind that depending on the location and month you are getting married; you may need to order soon than 6 months in advance. When you go to your tasting at the bakery, it is recommended that you and your significant other eat a light snack of substance about an hour or so before you go to your tasting. This is because a lot of the time, bakers are going to provide you with up to 15 different small samples. The tasting is going to last between 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Typically, the tasting will only last around 1 hour. When you go to your tasting/consultation it is important to have at least your wedding date and venue. Also, if you do have your guest count, desired design, and anything else you want to tell them. This way the bakery can have an idea of what they can do for you.

common wedding cake flavor

When you are picking out your wedding cake, there are many flavors for you to think about. You are also going to be able to taste a lot of the flavors that the bakery makes during your tasting. Some of the most common wedding cake flavors include carrot, chocolate, chocolate salted caramel, coconut, hazelnut, lavender and lemon, lemon poppy seed, praline cream, red velvet, spice cake, strawberries and cream, tiramisu, and vanilla. Bakeries may also have their own special flavors that they will show up that you can choose from.

dietary restrictions

Another thing to think about when going to your bakery tasting/consultation is if there are dietary restrictions. With your and/or your significant other, or anyone who is going to be attending your wedding. You want to make sure that anyone with a dietary restriction can enjoy a special treat during your wedding. It is super important to talk to your bakery about all dietary restrictions, however, not all bakeries are going to be able to honor certain dietary restrictions. So, before you go too far down with a bakery, make sure that they are going to be able to accommodate all your needs.
