Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our services, check out the FAQS! Still have questions, email us at Kelly@lesliejamesevents.com
So, your name is Kelly and your company is LeslieJames Events?
Exactly, I named my company after my parents, Leslie & James. You can learn more about the name here.
what's it like to work with you?
This is more than a business, this is a passion and I put my heart and soul into each and every event. I bring a childlike enthusiasm to the planning process and while I am extremely organized, detail oriented, and love curating the perfect vendor team, I strongly believe in hugs, laughing until my cheeks hurt, finding joy in the simple things and that love is the closest thing to magic.
Do you offer Day of Coordination?
Even though this service has been called “Day-of Coordination” it is really impossible to just show up the day of your wedding or event and successfully manage it or coordinate it without having some logistic meetings with you beforehand. We need to understand your vision and get all the information needed to be able to run your event smoothly. You have worked so hard on planning your wedding or event that you deserve ensuring it happens exactly as you envisioned, while you relax and have fun.
Given that, I offer Wedding / Event Management and we will start working on timelines, vendor communication and final details 6 to 8 weeks before your event day.
Do you work with LGBTQ+ couples?
Absolutely! I believe that love is love and that all couples should have a magical wedding experience free from any form of discrimination.
my venue has a coordinator, do I really need a planner?
A Venue Coordinator is very different from a Wedding Planner / Wedding Manager. Your Venue Coordinator is there to make sure everything related to the venue is going well. Typically they do not provide a timeline for you, set up decorations, or coordinate your vendors. I advise all couples to talk to their venue and understand the responsibilities of the venue coordinator before you decide not to hire a wedding coordinator.
what is the average investment ?
Working with a professional planner is not only an investment in your wedding, but it is an investment in you! We welcome wedding celebrations of all budgets and every proposal is custom designed to meet each couple’s unique needs and is based on your specific requirements, vision and the scope/scale of your wedding,
Wedding management (day-of coordination) services typically begin at $3,500.
do you charge a fixed fee or is it percentage based?
Flat fee! Your custom proposal is calculated based on your specific requirements, vision and the scope/scale of the work. We do not charge a percentage of your total expenses or mark-up products and services from vendors.
what is your booking process?
It begins with a free consultation where we will discuss your vision & planning needs and how we can make that a reality. If we all believe that we are a good fit, a formal proposal for our services will be created. The proposal is valid for one week and IF during that one week period we receive another inquiry for your wedding date, you will be notified and will have 48 hour to move to the contracting process. We require a signed contract and a nonrefundable deposit to hold your date.
